JULIE SCHARPHORN Photo of Julie Scharphorn BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dropcap Letter Julie and her husband Carl have been very supportive members of WMFAA, generous in donating gift prizes for many of our events, active in attending WMFAA fund raising; and with their labor of love to WMFAA, every year, they have been preparing/cooking our pig roast (lechon) for our annual picnic for many years now.

Julie decided to run for office as Board of Director in an attempt to get a closer look on how she may be able to reasonably act in the best interest of WMFAA. She declared “One of my short and long term goals is to re-establish good communication and trust from our membership. In this regard, I would like to see an increase in our membership; and hopefully to see many of us – actively participating again in many of our programs and activities. This means that we must be willing to listen and discuss our ideas and views together, so that together we can all work things out successfully”. Indeed, this is progress.

Julie also added, “I would like to see a complete disclosure of transactions and other information relevant to WMFAA’s operation and management of our finances; as I believe must be readily open to all paid-up members who may be interested in knowing how and where our funds are being used”.

Julie was born in Alegria, Surigao del Norte, Philippines. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She is married to Carl, who recently retired from a restaurant business. She is a stay-home mom so engaged in raising their two children: Joseph (Joey) 7, 1st grade and Jeanelle 4 who is still learning her ABCs. The Scharphorn recently moved to Twin Lake, Michigan and currently enjoying their newly build house and nature itself, situated in a sprawling land that connects the lakes.
