Fund from the Heart
Goal:
- To be able to help our members who asked for financial help during their time of
financial hardship (Bereavement, when a registered family member passed away).
- To be able to give each member a chance to help each other in time of their
financial hardship caused by losing a loved one due to death.
- To encourage friendship, support and cooperation amongst all members.
- To be able to promote unity amongst the members.
This fund is for Cash Advances from Pledges from the Members given to the WMFAA members
who asked for financial help during their time of financial needs
when their loved one(s) passed away.
How this works.
-
The member who is in need can call any member of WMFAA and/or Officers/Board Members and then
ultimately to the WMFAA President. A written request is expected from the bereaved member to
state the nature of the financial needs. This is to record the details of the event.
-
The Officers/Board of Directors can start calling all members to announce the news
and at the same time, can ask donations (abuloy) for the bereaved family. We
call these abuloy as “pledges”. The members we called have the right to say
“Yes (We are able to help)” or “No (Sorry, We are not able to help this time)”.
In case the members stated “yes (we are able to help”, these members have the
right to pledge how much money they are willing to help/give to the needy
family. For example, if we have 100 families that will pledge $1.00, the needy
family will receive $100.00. If we have 100 families that will pledge $2.00,
the needy family will receive $200.00. If we have 100 families that will pledge
$5.00, the needy family will receive $500.00 and so on. All the pledges made by
the members will be totaled and the total amount will be given to the member who
is in need. The monies will be taken from “Funds from the Heart”
-
The pledges made by the members who helped should be mailed to WMFAA Office to replenish the
cash advance given to the needy member.
-
Please bear in mind that the Help you
receive is from the members of this association who answer to our “call”. The
WMFAA Officers/Board of Directors are only facilitators to this “calling”
-
The list of the members who help to our “calling” will be made (unless members
choose to be anonymous) and sent to the needy family so “Thank You” notes can be
sent and/or expressed to those families that help.
Who are eligible to this?
-
The member should have paid the Membership fee of the last year and the current year when the need arise.
-
Immediate Family Members – Registered Father/Mother of the member, Spouse (Husband or Wife,
Significant Others), Children (Below Eighteen years of age or up to 25 years old if College Student)
-
A copy of Death Certificate should be forwarded to WMFAA office as soon as possible (1 month grace period.)
